Deceased Name: DR. MARIA SALAM -ADAMS MGH PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGIST; AT 68

Dr. Maria Z. Salam-Adams, pediatric neurologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital since the mid-1960s, died of multiple myeloma yesterday at the hospital. She was 68 and lived in Brookline.

Dr. Salam-Adams, a clinician and senior research fellow at the MGH, had also served as an assistant professor of pediatric neurology at Harvard Medical School. Some of her investigations concerned muscular dystrophy and epilepsy.

Born Maria Zabnienska in Stryj, Poland, she graduated from the American University of Beirut Medical School in Lebanon in 1951 and received training in pediatric neurology at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and at Children's Hospital here.

She leaves her husband, Dr. Raymond Adams; a daughter, Nina Salam of Brookline; a sister, Iga Zabnienska of Newton; and a brother, Andrew Zabnienski of London.

Services will be private.
